Air Malta to open new route to Algiers
Air Malta have annouced that as from 17th June, Malta will start serving a new scheduled service to Algeria’s capital, Algiers. The Maltese National Airline will operate two weekly flights every Monday and Thursday and expects to carry 6,000 passengers this summer.

Malta Airport welcomes Wizz Air inaugural flight from Budapest
Friday was a landmark day for Wizz Air and Malta Airport as the new Malta-Budapest route kicked off its twice weekly flight operation. The inaugural flight touched down at 0853hrs and was given the customary water arch welcome by the Malta Airport Fire & Rescue Team – an honour reserved for airlines.

20.7% increase in outbound tourist trips
The National Statistics Office (NSO) reported an increase of 20.7 per cent in outbound tourist trips during March, these amounted to 29,451.
The number of outbound tourist trips towards EU countries in March stood at 25,570, while a further 3,881 trips headed towards non-EU destinations. Both markets advanced by 19 and 31 per cent respectively. The [...]
