Lawyer Arthur Galea Salomone has been appointed president of the Cana Movement. His appointment was announced by Archbishop Paul Cremona during Cana’s annual Christmas gathering.

Mgr Charles Scicluna has been ordained Auxiliary Bishop of Malta, succeeding the late Mgr Annetto Depasquale, who passed away last November.

Malta’s second-ever cardinal appointed

Mgr Prospero Grech was appointed to the rank of Cardinal on Saturday morning in a ceremony held at St Peter’s Basilica. Cardinal Prospero was one of 22 men who joined the college of cardinals. He is only the second-ever Maltese to be appointed cardinal.
