Air Malta to open new route to Algiers
Air Malta have annouced that as from 17th June, Malta will start serving a new scheduled service to Algeria’s capital, Algiers. The Maltese National Airline will operate two weekly flights every Monday and Thursday and expects to carry 6,000 passengers this summer.

Malta Airport welcomes Wizz Air inaugural flight from Budapest
Friday was a landmark day for Wizz Air and Malta Airport as the new Malta-Budapest route kicked off its twice weekly flight operation. The inaugural flight touched down at 0853hrs and was given the customary water arch welcome by the Malta Airport Fire & Rescue Team – an honour reserved for airlines.

Meat production down by 3.4%- NSO
According to the National Statistics Office (NSO) in the first quarter of 2013, meat production in volume terms declined by 3.4 per cent while the producer value rose by 10.6 per cent when compared to the corresponding quarter last year.
