New theatre company Pagoni presents ‘Loveplay’
New theatre company Pagoni presents ‘Loveplay’ – a witty, sexy comedy which follows a trail of passion and seduction spanning two thousand years. The play by established playwright Moira Buffini received its premiere at the Royal Shakespeare Company at London’s Pit Theatre in 2001.
The production will take place in the fully air-conditioned theatre-in-the-round at St James Cavalier between the 7th and 9th August. ‘Loveplay’ features local actors Jean Marc Cafà (who is currently studying musical theatre at the prestigious Guildford School of Acting in the UK), Jo Caruana, Pia Zammit and Andrew Galea as well as UK actors Timothy Bond and Katie Prosser.
Pagoni Theatre is an organisation which seeks to give drama students and graduates fresh out of college the opportunity to put their knowledge and performance skills to use. In doing so, Pagoni aims to raise funds to help students in financial need, as well as to produce quality theatre.
This production is being presented by arrangement with United Agents Ltd, London. ‘Loveplay’ is being sponsored by the Guildford School of Acting, MADC, Alison White Dance Studio, Brigitte Gauci Borda School of Ballet and MonteKristo.
Tickets are available from St James Cavalier, tel. no: 21223200 and email: bookings@sjcav.org. More information from website: www.sjcav.org.
