Art exhibition inaugurated at Dar Malta in Brussels
Ambassador Richard Cachia Caruana, Permanent Representative of Malta to the European Union and Mr. Pierre Clive Agius, Ambassador of Malta to the Kingdom of Belgium, on Thursday inaugurated an exhibition entitled ‘Raphael Vella: Contemporary Graphics’ in the artist’s presence at Dar Malta in Brussels.
The exhibition consists of 17 drawings and prints by local artist Raphael Vella that were produced between 2007 and 2009. The works on display do not reflect a single concept or subject but were produced in conjunction with other works and installations that the artist has shown in different venues in recent years. The Media included in this collection include graphite drawing, dry pigment and lithography.
Raphael Vella is a contemporary Maltese artist working in a variety of media. Collections of his drawings have been exhibited recently at the Modern Art Oxford (UK) in 2007, at the St. James Cavalier Centre for Creativity in Valletta in 2008 and at the Domaine Pommery in Reims, France (in 2008-9).
The exhibition which is sponsored by Air Malta is open for visitors until 15 September 2009 at Dar Malta in Brussels.
