The Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs notifies that Tower Road from the Strand, up to the ex-Joinwell Building is expected to be open to vehicular traffic as from Monday 27th October, weather permitting.
Works involving the shifting and laying of services to the side-road, underneath the pavement, have been completed on time with the last finishing touches and wearing course being carried out and applied over the weekend.
Although the road will be open to traffic on Monday 27th October, works on the construction of footpaths using porfido material will be carried out as from Monday and will be expected to be completed by the
7th December by which date, the project would be completed in its entirety. Vehicular traffic will not be effected by the road-side works although motorists are being urged to proceed with caution.
This project forms part of the embellishment projects being planned by the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs for the Sliema locality. Other similar embellishment projects in the area are planned for next year.
