Fault in boiler causes power cuts

On Sunday afternoon, just after 14:00 CET, one of the boilers at Delimara developed a fault and was tripped. This resulted in electricity supply outages which affected various areas around Malta and Gozo.
Enemalta engineers and personnel started work to immediately restart operation and the electricity service was restored to all areas by 15:00 CET.
The areas affected were Tarxien, M’scala,, Bugibba, Mellieha, parts of Gozo, Zebbiegh, Rabat, Mosta, Lija, Fgura, parts of B’kara & Msida. Enemalta Corporation regrets any inconvenience caused to it’s consumers by this power interruption.
