Get Passionate about Opera Challenge extended
In the on-going debate on the Opera house and opera in general, one question keeps coming up: ‘Is opera still a valid art form or is it enjoyed only by a few elderly people?’
St James Cavalier has launched a series of high definition screenings from the New York Metropolitan Opera House.
Over the space of eight months, the centre will screen nine operas including some of the all-time favourites, such as Aida, Tosca and Carmen with the participation of stellar casts including Renee Fleming, Placido Domingo and our own Joseph Calleja.
Tickets are selling fast however the Get Passionate about Opera Challenge has been extended. If you are aged 18 to 25, this is your chance to win two season tickets worth €300. All one has to do is to give his or her most passionate reasons for going to the opera.
Send your Passionate about Opera contributions by email to
info@sjcav.org or by mail to St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity, Valletta.
The deadline has been extended to the 15th September 2009.
