A seminar entitled Support-Training-Networking- For a better Voluntary Sector was organised by the Council for the Voluntary Sector in collaboration with the Commission for Voluntary Organisations on Saturday.

During the seminar, information was disseminated on legal and registration sectors, the functions of the Council for the Voluntary Sector and the aims of the Voluntary Organisation Fund. A strategic plan for the voluntary sector was also presented.

The Council started operating in October and serves as a platform for cooperation between voluntary organisations and government. It also provides a centralised support for organisations in need and helps them work professionally.

In less than a year, a lot has been done and more than 300 HGOs are registered with the Voluntary Commissioner.
