The activity that will be organised in Gozo on the 30th and the 31st of October, will not only generate a social and cultural element but will also create another opportunity to attract internal and external tourism directly to Gozo. In this way this opportunity will advertise Gozo as a distinct destination.

For the occasion of the international conference for creativity and innovation on the 30th October and also for the Festival “d-link” that will take place on the 31st October, the San Lawrenz Local Council has invited foreign participants to take part in this conference and festival.

During the last few months, through its contacts abroad, the San Lawrenz Local Council has organised a publicity campaign and was able to attract 125 persons who will be in Gozo between the 27th October and the 3rd November to be able to participate in these activities that focus on European awareness. They will also have the opportunity to experience Gozo and later the participants themselves will be able to advertise Gozo on their return to their country.

The participants are coming from the Region of Veneto in Italy, the Island of Elba and the Region of Savoy in France. The Local Council has obtained funds from the European Union through Citizens’ Meetings Project. This is the third time in less than two years that the San Lawrenz Local Council has acquired funds from this Project.

For the Festival of the 31st October, which is open for everyone, environmental tours will take place in Dwejra Bay during the day and in the evening entertainment for the whole family will be take place in San Lawrenz Square with a spectacle including animators, Ruth Sammut Casingena and her dancers and a great concert by the duo Chasing Pandora and their band.
