Major power cut hits number of localities

An electricity supply outage in Central Malta occurred on Wednesday morning at around 1040CET due to a generation fault. As a result, interruptions due to load shedding took place in a number of locatities including Attard, San Gwann, Mriehel, St. Venera, Qormi, B’Kara, St. Julian’s, Swieqi, parts of Msida and Gzira.
In a statement, Enemalta said its personnel took the necessary measures to restore the relative supply by addressing the fault and enabled the power supply to be restored in all affected localities by 1150CET.
Customers can report faults and power interruptions on the following freephone number 80072224, Enemalta Corporation said it regrets any inconvenience caused by this power interruption.
