Stones from the Halicarnassus mausoleum were surprisingly brought to Malta to be used in various structural projects during the time of British rule. This mausoleum was one of the seven ancient Wonders of the World.

Several of these stones have been found in Dock No 1 at the Cospicua Drydocks when it was built by the British around 150 year ago.
