During the World Judo Kata Championships, organised by the Malta Judo Federation at the Cottonera Sports Pavilion, the President of the International Judo Federation, in the presence of the President of the European Judo Union Mr. Sergey Soloveychik and the Vice President of the EJU Mr. Franco Capelletti, presented the IJF GOLD medal of honour for the long service Envic gave to Judo as President of the Maltese Federation, member of the Directing Committee of the EJU for the past 18 years and many years in the IJF various commissions.

Mr. Vizer complemented the Maltese President and friend and his team for the excellent organisation of these First World Championships. He augured that the Maltese Federation continues with this excellent work and wished Envic Galea many more years in the service of the International Judo Community.

Justice Lino Farrugia Sacco, president of the Maltese Olympic Committee took the opportunity of the World Championships to present Envic Galea, the award: Southern Cross University’s 2008 International Alumnus of the year
