Request for change in Eurosong rules dismissed
Posted on November 18th, 2009
The courts have refused a request by former Maltasong chairperson Grace Borg for a warrant of prohibitory injunction to stop the Eurosong Festival from taking place because foreign composers and song writers were prohibited from participating.
Ms Borg, who represents a number of Maltese singers, had filed the request to change the current Eurosong rules whilst also insisting that the festival should not take place until the rule was changed.
However, Mr Justice Joseph Micallef dismissed the request, deeming it to be unfounded and without any legal basis.
