Strengthening democracy and the electoral process

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Louis Galea, has announced that a special Select Committee on Democratic Change set up by Parliament to strengthen democracy in Malta is in a process of consultation at the moment.
The Speaker said that he has already informed the policital parties that contested the last general election to submit their views and proposals in writing. The select committee is welcoming suggestions from the general public too.
All written suggestions are to reach the Speaker by not later than Friday 18th December 2009. They can be emailed to selectcommittee@gov.mt or sent to Mr Speaker, Select Committee on Democratic Change, House of Representatives, Valletta.
