855 million euros from the European Union have been allotted to Malta for the period 2007-2013. Over half of them will be coming from the European Fund for Structural Development.

Most of the funds will be used to improve Malta competitivity including investing in a Life Science Centre, tourism, roads, and strengthening Malta’s industrial parks.
