The Public Transport Authority has announced a park and ride service on Christmas Eve between 2300CEST and 0600CEST of Christmas Day. The service will leave from the Luxol Grounds parking grounds in Pembroke to the Paceville terminus and back every 30 minutes.

The fare for the service will be €1.16 and it will be repeated between December 31st at 2300CEST and January 1st at 0600CEST.

The Authority also announced that there will be no public transport on Christmas Day and on New Year’s Day between noon and 1500CEST.

The police have announced the following traffic arrangements for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve from 1900CEST onwards. These arrangements were made in consultation with the St Julian’s, Swieqi and Pembroke councils and the Paceville business community.

Entrance to Paceville will be from:

* Regional Road to Sant’Andrija Street and on to St George’s Street;

* Regional Road to Santu Wistin Street and on to St George’s Bay to Dragonara Road to Church Street;

* Pembroke to St George’s Bay to Dragonara Road to Church Street.

Exit from Paceville will be from:

* St George’s Street towards the police station;

* Church Street towards Ross Street;

* Dragonara Road towards Church Street.

Parking will not be allowed:

* On both sides of Dragonara Road;

* In Wilga Street between St George’s and Ball streets;

* On the lower end of Church Street to Dragonara Road;

* On both sides near the Paceville bus terminus except for buses.

The police urged the public to use public transport, private coaches, taxis, minibuses and chauffeur driven vehicles and to share cars.
