No money was stolen in a daring hold-up on a security van at around 09:30 CET on Monday morning in Qormi Road, Santa Venera since the thieves could not open the van.

The hold-up, which seemed to have been meticulously planned, began when a pickup van stopped abruptly in front of the security van. Behind the security van was a truck which then hit the security van in the back to force open the doors.

At that moment, the thieves came out of a car which was behind the truck but they did not manage to enter the security van. Some shots were fired but no one was injured. The thieves escaped in another van without stealing anything.
