Sophie and Elton get Caribbean number 1 spot
Teenage singer songwriter Sophie and music producer Mr. Elton Zarb have hit the top spot on Hit 94 FM’s ‘Aruba top 20’ in the island of Aruba in the Caribbean.
This is the second time that the two artists have managed this success. 2 months ago they hit the number 1 spot with the original single ‘K.I.S.S. (Keep it simple stupid) and remained there for 2 consecutive weeks. Now they have reached the top spot with a remake of the KC 70s classic tune ‘Give it up!’
This single has not been officially released yet and will be one of the tracks from Sophie’s forthcoming debut album. It was only sent to a select number of International Radio stations in early December 2009 as a preview copy.
At the moment Sophie and Elton are working hard in the studio finishing the album which has a release date due for June 2010. Sophie remarked: “working on my debut album is really exciting for me as I get to spend lots of time doing my favorite thing, writing and creating music, together with my great friend Elton Zarb, mind you I also dedicate a lot of time to study for my O’Level exams, due in May”.
Sophie’s Management and their UK music associates are very busy planning her official tour of the United Kingdom. Sophie will use this 6 to 8 week tour to promote her album with a date set for this summer. An initial UK marketing campaign by her Management and UK associates has generated positive feedback from Event promoters who have shown keen interest in booking the teenage singer songwriter for an appearance at their venues / events.
Sophie’s first public appearance is planned for June 2010. When asked about the number 1 success in The Caribbean Sophie said: “I dedicate this number 1 spot to my lovely fans. Love you so much boys’ n girls.”
