Video: Safer Internet Day to safeguard children’s information
Posted on February 9th, 2010
February 9th 2010 was the seventh edition of ‘Safer Internet Day’ organised by the European Commission. The logo for this year was ‘Think B4 U post!”
The day is dedicated to safeguarding children’s private information on the internet. It is very common for children and adolescents to spend long hours on the internet for study or entertainment purposes. Social networks are now very popular with children.
The European Commission has asked those in charge of social networking sites to pay more attention to privacy especially when it comes to children, who do not always know the repercussions.
The Malta Communications Authority has designed a set of guidelines for this purpose.
