Video: The end of the last Valletta Carnival?
On Tuesday, people celebrated with their last few ounces of energy the end of what might be the last Carnival in Valletta.
Following various issues between the government and Carnival-float builders, many believe that this could be the last Carnival celebrated in Freedom Square in Valletta. This is because plans for the Parliament House to be built in Freedom Square are underway.
This year, people organising this festive event went all out with celebrations, colours and music to leave people wanting for more. Carnival, hence, was an invention of bright, big costumes, energetic dances and colourful floats, most of them carrying political messages.
Carnival in Gozo was also very busy, as it becomes more and more popular and infamous.
