Vodafone promotes health first and foremost
First on the list of Vodafone’s core values is taking care of its employees. That is why Vodafone held free health sessions for its employees so as to increase awareness on breast cancer, and to imbed a culture of support between family and friends. These meetings were held in collaboration with The Breast Cancer Support Group.
The Breast Cancer Support Group was founded to help and support women who have had the unfortunate experience of breast surgery or related medical problems. It is important for all women of all ages to be aware and be always on the lookout for warning signs. Women should seek help immediately at the first warning signs. The Group also supports survivors to have a positive body image and promote a healthy lifestyle.
Such sessions for staff members and other initiatives are often organised at Vodafone, especially to promote positive health models among employees. This is part of its people strategy. Sessions include talks by professionals, free medical consultations, free eye tests, yearly influenza vaccines and health screenings for high-risk jobs.
