Video: Maltese workers instructed to remain in Libya
Posted on March 1st, 2010
Maltese workers in Libya have been instructed to remain in the country for as long as their visa permits them to stay. This is because their replacements might not be allowed into the country due to the current visa dispute between Libya and Switzerland.
These instructions were provided by the Maltese Embassy in Tripoli which has recently organised a meeting with Maltese businessmen having business interests in Libya.
Maltese Ambassador George Cassar said that no citizens living anywhere in the Schengen zone, including Malta, are being allowed into Libya and that this was happening for any type of visa held.
