Malta given a low chance of winning Eurovision 2010
According to William Hill, one of the largest bookmakers in the UK, Malta’s position in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 is a very weak one, with odds of 80/1 of winning. Thea Garrett will represent Malta with her song ‘My Dream’ at the Eurovision final in Norway in May.
Azerbaijan is one of the favourites this year with a 5/2 chance to win. With a 5/1 chance, Israel is deemed to place second, while Denmark is listed at 8/1, for its chance to place third.
Norway and Croatia share a 10/1 listing whereas Germany and Armenia share a 14/1 chance.
Greece are alongside Sweden with a 20/1 chance, while Turkey and Belgium stand back at a 25/1 chance. Belarus, Spain and Ireland trade at 33/1, Albania and Iceland at 40/1, France, Slovakia and the UK at 50/1 while Moldova at 66/1.
Unfortunately Malta lies at the bottom of the list with a few other countries with an 80/1 listing. Other countries awaiting the same fate of Malta are Serbia, Lithuania, Cyprus, Georgia and Romania.
With a 100/1 listing are Bosnia & Herzegovina, Russia and Holland, at 125/1; Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Bulgaria and Switzerland. Portugal lies alone at 150/1, while at the very end of the list are Macedonia, Poland and Slovenia at 200/1.
