On Thursday morning, workers engaged in excavations works in Ġnien Ħal Warda unearthed an ancient tomb with skeletal remains and an amphora inside.

The Attard Local Council, which is responsible for the works, immediately alerted the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage which are trying to date the find. Council officials said the remains could be from the Punic area and could be over 2,500 years old.
