Video: Malta Eurovision hopeful looks ahead
Thea Garrett who will be representing Malta in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest spoke to esctoday.com a few days before her departure to Norway. The 18-year-old singer gave an account of her road towards Oslo, mainly the preparations for the actual performance.
Esctoday.com reported that Malta’s Eurovision hopeful Thea Garrett stated that she is highly excited to kick-off with the Eurovision task that will be one of the main highlights in her music career. She spoke about the rehearsals she did with the backing vocals and Jes Darmanin who will play the seagull role in the song My Dream. The Maltese artist explained how just a few days before leaving the country she did the final touches on the dress. In fact, Thea designed her own dress and created the image for the performance presented on stage.
The singer stated that the performance will be enhanced from the national final but it will remain simple in order that the vocal part comes stronger. Thea Garrett spoke about her collaboration with the composer and author who gave her the initial support towards the Eurovision Song Contest. She also described the promotion in Belgium and her appearance in Pink Nation concert.
Malta will compete in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Oslo on 25th May.
