Three foreigners have been arrested after they were found in possession of heroin. The police reported that the drugs find was of over 1.2kg of heroin.

A 19-year-old Spanish man was arrested after he landed on a direct flight from Amsterdam when it was discovered that he was carrying the drugs hidden in his shoes.

Further investigations led to the arrest of two Nigerian men. One is a 32-year-old man living at the Hal Far Open Centre while the other is a 34-year-old man living in Floriana. The latter was also carrying €2,000 in cash.
