Maltese business opportunities promoted in Australia
The Maltese High Commission in Australia through the Consul General of Malta in Victoria in collaboration with MABPAV (Maltese-Australian Business and Professional Association of Victoria) organised a ‘Doing business and Investing in Malta info Night’ on Wednesday 21st July 2010 at a hotel in Caroline Springs.
Those participating were business men and women from different spheres of Victorian Business, as well as a representative from the Victorian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. A cross section of businesses from the hospitality, freight, IT, Internet Marketing, Accounting & Real Estate sectors were in attendance.
The gathering was addressed by Mr. Charles Mifsud, Consul General of Malta in Victoria and Mr. Damien Digby, President of MABPAV. Mr. Mifsud delivered a presentation on the current situation in Malta, as well as present and planned projects such as upgrading of public roads, the wind turbines, Smart City, City Gate project, the Corporate Village, amongst others.
Mr. Damien Digby, President of MABPAV spoke of the aspects of investing in Malta such as the process of applying and seeking assistance from Malta Enterprise and Malta Financial Service Authority, the taxation system in Malta including double taxation arrangements.
The aim is to hold such seminars regularly throughout the year.
