Two men arrested after MIA drug find

A 19-year-old Portuguese man and a 35-year-old Nigerian man were arrested on Friday afternoon following drug finds at the MIA (Malta International Airport).
The Portuguese arrived in Malta on a direct flight from Dusseldorf, Germany, he was held by Customs Officials after finding nearly a kilo of cocaine and heroin in the sole of his shoes the police said in an issued statement.
Police investigations during the night brought to the arrest of the Nigerian man in Bugibba. The police said that it is believed that the drugs brought into Malta were intended for the man who resides in Marsa.
Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera is heading further investigations which are underway. The two men are to be arraigned in court on Saturday afternoon.
