Somalis jailed for selling drugs
Two Somali men were jailed after pleading guilty to selling cannabis in Paceville last Saturday within 100 metres of a school.
Another Somali, 22-year-old Gżira resident Omar Mohammed Adam, was conditionally discharged after he pleaded guilty to drug possession.
Meanwhile, 23-year-old Justin Cassar, who did not want anyone to park in front of his Żabbar home, was charged with assaulting and threatening Lawrence Muscat, a neighbour, who did.
The accused was also charged with damaging the victim’s car, breaching the peace and swearing in public. The incident occurred at around 16:30 CEST on 15th June last year.
In a separate case, 48-year-old Victor Mercieca from Gzira pleaded not guilty to throwing a broken bottle in a Paceville club on Sunday. He was also charged with threatening three men, being drunk and disorderly, swearing in public and breaching public order. He was granted bail against a deposit of €1,000 and a personal guarantee of €3,000.
