Painting donated to Malta Bankers’ Association
As part of its centenary celebrations, APS Bank donated a water colour painting to the Malta Bankers’ Association (MBA). The picture, by self taught artist and director of APS Bank Joe Pace Ross, depicts two “Dgħajjes tal-Latini” on choppy seas.
These sturdy boats used to cross the Gozo Channel practically every day, laden to the brim with cargo, cattle and passengers and for decades served as the main means of communication between the two islands.
During the presentation, APS Bank Head of Operations, Francis Frendo, said: “On the occasion of its 100th anniversary, APS Bank is presenting MBA with this painting as gratitude towards its work within the local banking sector.”
MBA General Secretary, James Bonello, thanked Mr Frendo whilst wishing APS Bank every success for the future. The framed painting will be displayed at the MBA’s offices in Attard.
