Low cost airlines Easyjet and Ryanair have expressed an interest in opening more routes to Malta, an official government press release announced.

Following the call for new and underserved routes issued by government on the 28th October, Easyjet submitted a confirmation of interest to operate a twice-weekly flight to and from Newcastle, UK.

Ryanair has submitted a bid to operate twice-weekly flights from and to Bristol, UK. Ryanair has also confirmed its interest to operate other routes from UK and Italy.
