On Thursday evening, two men were grievously injured, after they were run over by a car in Burmarrad.

The police said that a 32-year-old man from Hamrun and a 39-year-old man from Mosta were crossing Burmarrad road at around 17:40hrs CEST, when they were run over by a red Daihatsu being driven by a 70-year-old man from Rabat.

They were rushed to Mater Dei hospital as they sustained grievous fractures.

Further investigations are underway.
