A man and a woman were arrested for drug possession, after the police found around three kilogramme of cannabis resin in the man’s residence and car.

The police said that they have been monitoring the 25-year-old man following a tip-off, that he may have imported drugs into Malta, and have been trafficking the drugs himself.

The police arrested the man, on Thursday, in Zebbug as he was found in possession of 1.75 kilogramme of cannabis resin.
Furthermore his residence in Lija and his car were also searched, here the police found a further 1.25 kilogramme of the drug.

A woman aged 21 from Naxxar was arrested in connection with the case.

Further investigations headed by duty Magistrate Edwina Grima are underway.
