Two injured in hit and run

Early on Sunday morning two men were injured in a hit-and-run accident in Mqabba.
The police said that a 62-year-old man from Qrendi was repairing a puncture while a 25-year-old man from Mqabba stopped to give assistance in Triq is-Sejba, Mqabba the two were hit by a Mazda at around 00:40hrs CEST.
They were rushed to Mater Dei hospital where they are being treated for serious but not life threatening injuries.
The police confirmed that at around 03:00hrs CEST a 21-year-old man from Qrendi turned up at Zurrieq police station, admitting that he was driving the Mazda.
Further investigations are underway.
