A man was murdered and another was grievously injured in a shooting incident at Triq Guzeppi Lanzon in Marsascala at around 18:45hrs CET on Thursday evening.

The police said that they were approached by the man who was also slightly injured; the man told them someone had shot at him from a car. Furthermore he said the incident happened, in the basement of a garage three storeys underground.

On site the police found Kevin Gatt of Zejtun, dead in a Hyundai car, along with the other man who was seriously injured.

The injured men were taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment and the alleged shooter has been arrested.

Further investigations are underway.
