Traffic diversions due to Fireworks Symposium
The Malta Tourism Authority would like to inform the general public that due to the evening firework events being organised in connection with the 13th International Symposium on Fireworks, there will be particular traffic arrangements in place in Mdina/Mtarfa, Mellieha and St Paul’s Bay as indicated below.
Monday 23rd April Mdina/Mtarfa
Triq l-Istazzjon will be closed as of Sunday noon till Tuesday 24th till 06.00hrs (Mdina side and between Triq l-Imtarfa and Triq il-Maltin Internati u Eziljati) and Part of Triq il-Maltin Internati u Eziljati will be closed and no parking will be allowed from 18.00hrs till midnight.
Wednesday 25th April Mellieha
Traffic coming from the direction of Cirkewwa will not be allowed passage through Mellieha, and has to pass via Popeye Village. Police will be directing traffic accordingy.
Residents will not be affected by these arrangements.
Furthermore, for the convenience of those wishing to attend this event, the Mellieha Local Council is organising a free Park & Ride sevice from the parking known as Belleview to the centre of the village.
Thursday 26th April St Paul’s Bay
No parking will be allowed and Islet Promenade will be closed on Thursday 26th April 2012 between 06.00a.m. till midnight (from the Jetty to Gillieru Hotle. Triq Toni Bajada and Triq Bugibba will be closed to traffic from 05.00p.m. till midnight.
The MTA would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused, and thanks the public in advance for their cooperation with the police and local councils who will be enforcing these arrangements. The MTA would also like to invite you to participate and enjoy these events.
