For the fifth year running, the MALTA PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA brings you some of these exciting compositions from both the silver screen’s golden age and recent blockbusters to be played live at the Mediterranean Conference Centre on Saturday 19th May at 19:30 CET.

With music as popular and sensational on the concert platform as on the silver screen, this year’s MOVIE SPECTACULAR – The Movie Classics has all the ingredients for sheer excitement. Under the direction of Kevin Abela the MPO presents an eclectic programme with music from The Magnificent Seven, Super Man, Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, Once Upon in Time in America, Lord of the Rings, Scent of a Woman, Eyes Wide Shut and James Bond. We also have a surprise for those fans of animated features ……… music from The Princesses, which will be interpreted by a young and energetic singers Andrew Barberi, Sean Borg, Alexandra Gambin, Claire Marie Mifsud, Charlene Portelli, Rachel Fabri and Dorothy Bezzina.

So join the MPO on another journey into the exciting world of movies. This is music that has found its way into all our hearts, driven by vibrant rhythms, wonderful melodies with exciting references to the visuals created by young artist Francantonio Cauchi Cuschieri, designed for the performance by Nicholas Critien.
