A 44-year-old woman, from Kalkara, was found critically injured in her home on Saturday afternoon.

The woman who was found at the bottom of the stairs behind the front door, sustained severe head injuries. She is currently being treated at the intensive care unit.

In a separate incident, a 45-year old Briton resident in Sliema was critically injured when he fell while in a private residence in Cathedral Street, Sliema, at around 15:20 on Saturday.

He is also being treated at the intensive care unit.

Further investigations are under way.
