Diver rescued at Marsascala

The Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) has reported that at 12:10 CEST on Saturday they received a call saying that a diver was missing close to the Polynesia wreck (1.5NM from Marsascala). An AFM Alouette Helicopter was scrambled to the area whilst a search and rescue launch Melita II was also diverted to assist. The diver was found alive and conscious but was suffering from bends. The diver was transferred on board Melita II and eventually winched on the helicopter. The diver was then taken to hospital for medical treatment.
