Following the success achieved with last year’s Zucchero ‘Chocabeck’ Concert, Standout Events have this year brought another Italian singer-songwriter – Antonello Venditti- for a live concert to be held at MFCC Open Grounds, Ta’ Qali on Friday, 24 August, 2012 at 9.30pm.

This year’s concert is expected to be one of the main events of this Summer, with special guests for the night including popular local band WINTER MOODS between 8pm and 9pm.

Antonello Venditti’s two and a half hour concert will be packed with songs that will also feature his greatest hits like, In questo mondo di ladri, Amici mai, Alta Marea, Dalla pelle al cuore, Ricordati di me and more.

Venditti was born in Rome and made himself noted for the strength of his vocal qualities and for his attention to social issues, evidenced by pieces like Sora Rosa which is sung in Roman dialect. Also in dialect was Roma Capoccia, a declaration of love for his city, which later became one of his most famous songs.

Boosting of a long career which began in the early 70s, Antonello Venditti can boost of a multi-generational fan base, partly thanks to his perceptive satirical lyrics which express a love-hate relationship with his country of origin, and particularly Rome – the place where he was born.

In November 2011, the new album Unica was released. Following the release of the album there was the long and successful UNICA TOUR 2012 in Europe, Italy, and in September in Canada, U.S.A, Australia. The album is an ideal continuation of the previous “Dalla pelle al cuore” and it is preceded by the single “Unica”. The twentieth unreleased album of Antonello Venditti is another fascinating journey through the universe built of an exciting career, full of masterpieces, and also characterized by a strong social and political commitment.

Venditti is expected to attract a numerous audience, in view of his considerable following in Malta and Gozo. Moreover, the concert should also target Italian tourists, since Venditti also attracts a large, loyal following all across the Italian Peninsula.
