A 52-year-old man from the former Yugoslavia was seriously injured while working in the lift well at McDonald’s in Republic Street Valletta, at around 04:45hrs CEST. His condition is stable.

The police said the man was working on the lift which crashed down and injured him.

He was taken to Mater Dei hospital where he is being treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries.
