An 87-year-old man, from Swieqi was hit by a Toyota Aygo driven by a 24-year-old female from Swieqi on Triq il-Migbed in Swieqi at around 18:15hrs CEST on Wednesday.

The man was rushed to Mater Dei hospital where he is being treated for grevious injuries but is not in danger of dying.

Police investigations are underway.
