National Forum on Intercultural Dialogue
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, and St. James Cavalier Centre for Creativity are inviting business organisations, local councils, NGOs, artists, educators and other interested stakeholders to contribute to a National Forum on Intercultural Dialogue on Friday 30th January at St. James Cavalier.
The Forum will assess the role of intercultural dialogue and the future of our diverse cultural communities. It will also mark the end of Malta’s active role in the events that celebrated the 2008 European Year of Intercultural Dialogue.
The half day forum will be addressed by Minister Cristina with interventions amongst others by Dr Mark Anthony Falzon, Prof Paul Clough and Dr. Katrine Camilleri. In addition, four workshops led by notable key experts such as Prof Carmel Borg and Ms Sina Bugeja will tackle specific areas and recommendations related to education, employment, the arts and integration.
Attendance is free and registration is open till Tuesday 27th January. With each registration, delegates are also requested to submit the name of their preferred workshop.
The workshops are:
1 Creative Dialogues: The arts and ICD;
2 Not in my neighbourhood: integration and local communities;
3 Baa baa black sheep: Intercultural Dialogue in education;
4. Mind the gap: Employment and intercultural dialogue.
The Forum will be held from 9am till 12:30pm and registration is open via email on euproject@sjcav.org. Early booking is highly recommended.
