Cable fault causes localized power cut

A fault which occurred at 13:41 on a feeder leading to Msieraħ DC, tripped another 3 feeders and caused a localized power cut affecting the areas around Sliema, Gżira, Msida and Ta’ Xbiex. Parts of the localities affected were renergised when the 3 healthy feeders were switched back on at 13:59 with the help of SCADA. Repairs are currently underway on the cable which caused the fault and in the meantime, Enemalta engineers will be giving back supply through alternative sources. This operation should take approximately 2 to 3 hours. Enemalta would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused.
