A 54-year-old man from Naxxar was grievously injured in a traffic accident in Triq il-Marfa, Mellieha at around 21:45hrs CET on Friday.

The police confirmed the accident happened when a 42-year-old man from Mellieha, driving a Seat Ibiza, lost control and crashed into a parked Opel Corsa. This crash was then followed by a collision with a Fiat Uno, driven by the injured man.

The other drivers involved were not injured. Further investigations are underway.
