A 57 year Hungarian national, Laszlo Nandor Marton, was accused in court late on Tuesday with the murder of his partner, 38-year-old Yvette Gajda, in a St Paul’s Bay apartment last November. He pleaded not guilty but was remanded in custody.
Gajda was also Hungarian and a mother-of-two, She who was fatally stabbed with a pair of scissors and was found dead in her flat with more than 40 wounds to her neck.
According to neighbours, the two had been arguing loudly all day.
Police Inspectors Keith Arnaud and Jessica Grima led the prosecution.
