Muscat achieves a record 26,170 votes
First District (Valletta, Floriana, Hamrun, parts of Marsa, Pieta, Gwardamanga and parts od Santa Venera): The strongest candidates in the first district are PN’s Mario de Marco, Jean-Pierre Farrugia and Claudio Grech . Louis Grech was elected with 5626 votes, Jose Herrera is also looking strong for PL.
Second district (Birgu, Isla, Bormla, Zabbar, Kalkara, Xghajra and St Peter’s): Joseph Muscat was elected with a record 13, 968, Lawrence Gonzi is also leading ahead.
Third district (Żejtun, part of Fgura and Marsaskala): Labour’s Owen Bonnici was elected with 4316 votes, George Vella is also doing well for PL. Nationalist candidates Mario Galea and Carm Mifsud Bonnici are leading the way.
Fourth district (Gudja, Għaxaq, part of Marsa, Paola, Santa Luċija, part of Fgura and Tarxien): Joseph Muscat has been elected with 12, 202, Konrad Mizzi for PL,Jason Azzopardi and Carm Mifsud Bonnici for PN also have their nice share of votes.
Fifth district (Birżebbuġa, Kirkop, Marsaxlokk, Mqabba, Qrendi, Safi, Żurrieq and Bubaqra): Karmenu Vella and Marlene Farrugia are leading the way for PL candidates with Anthony Bezzina and Jason Azzopardi as their PN counterparts.
Sixth district ( Qormi, Siġġiewi, Luqa and Ħal Farruġ): Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca (PL) was elected with 6,106, Roderick Galdes (PL) is following whereas Clyde Puli and Ryan Callus seem to be ahead other PN candidates.
Seventh district (Żebbuġ, Dingli, Imdina, Imġarr, Imtarfa, Rabat, Baħrija and Tal-Virtù): Again Lawrence Gonzi is leading the way. PL’s Ian Borg was elected with 4177 votes, Sandro Craus and Godfrey Farrugia are also gaining momentum.
Eight district (Birkirkara, Fleur de Lys, Part of Is-Swatar, Iklin, Lija, part of In-Naxxar and part of Santa Venera): PL’s Chris Cardona is the first to be elected with 3876 votes. For PN Tonio Fenech, Beppe Fenech Adami and Michael Asciak seem to be on the forefront, well ahead of othe candidates. On the PL’s Edward Scicluna is also doing well.
Ninth district (Ħal Għargħur, Imsida, part of Is-Swatar, San Ġwann, Kappara, Ibraġ, Swieqi, Madliena and Ta’ Xbiex) : Simon Busuttil, PN’s deputy leader is well ahead, PL’s Manuel Mallia and Leo Brincat’s are also doing quite well.
Tenth district (Gżira, Pembroke, San Ġiljan, Paceville and Sliema):: PN’s George Pullicino is leading; Robert Arrigo for PN is also doing quite well. PL’s Manuel Mallia and Michael Falzon are also going strong.
Eleventh district (Attard, Balzan and Mosta): PN Deputy Leader Simon Busuttil is leading, PL’s Louis Grech and Anthony Agius Decelis are also holding up well.
Twelfth district (Mellieħa, Manikata, part of In-Naxxar, Baħar Iċ-Ċagħaq, San Pawl il-Baħar and Burmarrad): For PN Tonio Fenech, Michael Gonzi and Robert Cutajar are leading whereas PL’s Evarist Bartolo and Michael Farrugia are also on the run to be elected; PL’s Deborah Schembri seems to be running close.
Thirteenth district (Gozo and Comino): New Labour candidate ophthalmologist Franco Mercieca has been elected with 3,969 first count votes. PL’s Gozo spokesman Anton Refalo was also elected with 5264 votes. Former Member of Parliament Justyne Caruana won 2,756 votes ad is to be elected only if PL wins its third seat. For PN Giovanna Debono was elected with 4753 votes, Chris Said was also elected with 4096, Frederick Azzopardi is battling it out with Justyne Caruana for the remaining seat.
