The police have reported that five youths were arraigned before Magistrate Paul Coppini in the Gozitan Courts and accused of grievously injuring a young foreigner between August 15 and 16, 2013, in Rabat, Gozo. The youths, three of whom are minors, were also accused of voluntarily damaging the victim’s property, whose value exceeded €116.47 but not €1,164.69. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges against them and were granted bail against a personal guarantee of €500.
Farhan Ainab Mohamud, a 34-year-old Somali with no fixed address, was also charged with breaching conditions imposed on him by Judge David Scicluna on July 16, 2012, and relapsing on Sunday. He pleaded not guilty to the charges against him and was remanded in custody pending judgement.
