The police have reported that they are in the process of establishing the cause of a fire which overcame a luxurious car on late on Thursday night in Triq il-Karmnu, Luqa.
The Audi Q5, which costs thousands of euro, was destroyed by a blaze which was put-out by the Civil Protection Department shortly after the fire was reported. The vehicle is owned by a private company.
Preliminary investigations found that a gate to the private parking area where the car was parked was found open when it is always closed. Moreover, the padlock of a nearby store was found broken and its door forced open. However, nothing was missing inside.
Investigations are underway while several experts have been appointed to assist with a magisterial inquiry.
